Terms of Use — LU6OLE
Version 1.3 — of 19 October 2026
1. Purpose and publisher
LU6OLE is an Android parental control app for the phone of a child aged 6 to 15. Installed and set up by a parent, it closes the apps that they have not allowed, limits the time spent in each, puts the phone to sleep at night (except the phone, emergency calls and SOSBY), prevents its own uninstallation without the parent's code, and lets up to four parents adjust it from their own phone, on the lu6ole.app/parent page. The child can ask for an app, an installation or more time; their parents answer. Optionally, the parents can see where the child's phone is at the moment they ask.
These terms govern the download and use of the app, of the parents' page and of the lu6ole.app website.
The publisher is Géry ROTSAERT EI, sole trader, trading name SOSBY — LU6OLE is a SOSBY product —, registered in the Lyon trade and companies register (SIRET 399 538 172 00020, RCS Lyon), VAT not applicable, art. 293 B du CGI, intra-community VAT no. FR78399538172, 1 quai Maréchal Joffre, 69002 Lyon, France, +33669142066, contact contact@lu6ole.app. The legal notice supplements this article.
2. What LU6OLE is not
- LU6OLE is not an emergency service nor a monitoring service: nobody watches behind the app. LU6OLE's emergency call button dials the emergency number; in case of danger, call the emergency number of your country (112 in the European Union).
- LU6OLE does not track the child: it does not read their messages, does not see the websites they visit, uses neither the camera nor the microphone, and keeps no journey. The location, if the parent turns it on, shows only the position at that moment, at a parent's request, for thirty minutes at most, and the child is warned each time. It depends on the phone (location turned on, network, battery): it may be imprecise or unavailable, and does not replace an emergency service.
- LU6OLE does not make the phone tamper-proof. It is designed for a child aged 6 to 15: it slows a teenager down, it does not always stop them. A determined person who knows Android (safe mode, phone reset, another user…) can get around a control installed as an app. LU6OLE tells the parents on their page when its protection stops, with the action to take.
- LU6OLE depends on the phone. Some manufacturers stop apps in the background: the protection assumes the settings requested at installation (unrestricted battery, automatic start on Xiaomi phones), which remain in the parent's hands.
- SOSBY is never blocked. If it is installed, LU6OLE never closes it, neither by day nor by night.
3. What the app does on the child's phone
Read this article before installing LU6OLE. Each access is requested once, at the moment it is needed, with an explanation, and it is the parent who grants it.
- The accessibility service ("the guardian"): it reads the name of the app that opens in order to close those that are not allowed, counts the time spent today in each, and, on the Settings and app installation screens only, recognises those that target LU6OLE in order to ask for the parent's code. It never reads the content of other apps. It is turned on only after a screen that explains it and asks for the parent's agreement.
- The device administrator, with no policy at all (neither lock nor wipe): it prevents the uninstallation of LU6OLE without the parent's code.
- The permanent notification "LU6OLE is active", carried by a foreground service: the child knows that LU6OLE is watching, and the phone does not stop it.
- The list of installed apps, so that the parent chooses what is allowed.
- Android's “a camera is on” or “a microphone is recording” signal, without any camera or microphone permission: to close an app that the parent has deprived of the camera or the microphone. LU6OLE sees and hears nothing.
- Location, optional (Android's location permission, including in the background, granted by the parent after an explanation screen): only during a location requested by a parent, thirty minutes at most, with a message on the child's screen.
- The Internet connection, to receive the settings made on the parents' page and to send it what the privacy policy describes. Without a network, the latest settings hold.
4. The parent, the child, and their agreement
- LU6OLE is installed on a child's phone by a parent or by the person who exercises parental authority, and for that child only. Installing it on an adult's phone, or without the knowledge of the person who uses it, is prohibited by these terms and may constitute an offence.
- The child knows. LU6OLE has no hidden mode: the icon, the permanent notification and the "Here is what your parents have set" screen remain visible. The parent undertakes to explain to the child what LU6OLE does and why.
- The parent's code protects the settings and the uninstallation. The parent keeps it to themselves and does not entrust it to the child.
- At 15, LU6OLE hands back control. In the month of the child's 15th birthday (based on the month and year of birth entered by the parent), the app no longer blocks anything and can be uninstalled; location, if it was turned on, only continues with the teenager's agreement. The parents' page says so.
- The parents' page opens from a phone or a computer, with the parent's Google or Apple account; there they find the phones linked to them, on each of their devices.
- Up to four parents can be linked to the same phone, each with their own account and a code shown by the child's phone. Each sees and sets the same thing; a parent can unlink another. A parent can link the phones of several children to their page, each with its own settings.
5. Price
Fifteen days of free trial, with every feature, starting from the child's phone's first licence request (once the parent has created their code). No bank card is asked for.
- After that, full use of LU6OLE requires a one-time purchase, at the price shown on Google Play at the time of purchase, taxes included (€9.90 in France; in other countries, the price is adjusted to the standard of living). There is no subscription: nothing is charged afterwards, nothing to cancel.
- At the end of the trial, LU6OLE keeps working for seven days of grace, announced to the parent on their page and in the app. Without a purchase at the end of that period, LU6OLE pauses: it no longer blocks anything on the child's phone (apps, time, bedtime, site filter, location), it tells the child and the parent so, and the uninstall lock stays in place so that the parent can unlock without starting over. It never switches off silently.
- The purchase is made on the child's phone, behind the parent's code (LU6OLE settings, “Full version” tab), and is paid through Google Play, under Google's terms. The publisher never receives your bank details; the charge may appear as “GOOGLE*SOSBY”.
- The purchase is tied to the Google account that made it: it is restored if LU6OLE is reinstalled or the phone is replaced, with that account. It covers up to three children's phones; beyond that, a new purchase is needed.
- Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer, you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content supplied without a physical medium, this right ends once performance has begun, if you expressly asked for immediate performance and acknowledged losing this right (art. L. 221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code); Google Play presents this to you at the time of purchase. The fifteen-day trial lets you try LU6OLE fully before paying. Google Play's refund rules also apply.
- These terms apply to purchases made from 19 October 2026 onwards, never to a period that has already passed.
6. Licence of use
The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use LU6OLE to protect your child's phone, in a private setting. You are forbidden to copy, modify, redistribute or resell the app, to get around its protections, or to decompile it, except within the limits that the law allows (art. L. 122-6-1 du code de la propriété intellectuelle).
The name LU6OLE, its logo, its firefly fairy, its texts and its appearance belong to the publisher.
7. Statutory guarantees
If you are a consumer, you benefit from the statutory guarantee of conformity of digital content and services (art. L. 224-25-12 et seq. du code de la consommation). Write to contact@lu6ole.app. LU6OLE works on Android 10 or more recent; a version of Android or a phone model that no longer allowed the app to work is not a defect of the app if this was announced.
8. What you undertake not to do
- Install or use LU6OLE on the phone of a person other than a child in your care, or without their knowledge.
- Get around the protections of the app or of the service.
- Use the app, the parents' page or the website in a way that disrupts their operation.
9. Personal data
LU6OLE has no account for the child; the parent signs in to their page with their Google or Apple account, which they can delete at any time from that page. LU6OLE collects as little as possible. What is collected is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
10. Liability
The publisher answers for its app and its service (hosted by Cloudflare, its provider). It is not liable for damage resulting from a cause outside its control: operation or settings of the phone and of Android, manufacturer restrictions, third-party apps, Google services, mobile network or Internet, circumvention of the protection by the phone's user, or force majeure.
It remains liable for its own failings under ordinary law. No clause limits its liability in the event of gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or harm to the physical integrity of persons. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms reduces the rights that the law guarantees you.
11. Languages
These terms are offered in 35 languages. In the event of a discrepancy between two versions, the French version prevails, without prejudice to the rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.
12. Changes
Any substantial change is announced in the app or on lu6ole.app before it applies.
13. Governing law and disputes
French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought by writing to contact@lu6ole.app. Failing that, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge (article L. 612-1 du code de la consommation): CM2C (Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris – https://www.cm2c.net – contact@cm2c.net – +33 1 89 47 00 14. You may also bring the matter before the competent court.
